In 1916, Escofet Tejera & Co. was chosen by the council of Barcelona to pave the sidewalks of the city. Since then, all who walk in Barcelona immediately recognise the typical BCN sidewalk motifs, symbol of the city.
PRODUCTiON PROCESS
First we select the best skins of DOQ Priorat wines and distill them obtaining the essence of the aromas of these famous wines.
We macerate the fresh botanicals, recently cut, in water and liquor. After a while we distill it to obtain a concentration of herbs that will be the basis of our gin.
We dilute this base with liquor and water, shaking it vigorously and letting it rest for months. We use water obtained from our natural source of Mas Baboixos, which rises from deep within the slate layers, the typical soil of the Priorat lands.

TASTiNG NOTE
NOSE
Fresh, floral, Mediterranean notes, followed by the mystery of the juniper and the strength of citrus, with a touch of figs and fennel,the breezy aromas of a perfect summer afternoon in the Priorat.
MOUTH
The juniper underlines the strength of the rosemary and citrus, preceding the harmony, the way we experience it in the architecture of the famous Catalan genius, Antoni Gaudí.
FiNAL
Dry, sharp juniper and a touch of lemon, to complete the perfection of the first taste, refreshing in the heat of the Barcelona night.
BCN GiN & TONiC PERFECT SERVE
- Balloon type glass.
- 30 ml of BCN GIN (this small measure is enough for this intense flavoured Gin to balance with tonic)
- 200 ml of the finest chilled organic tonic water
- 20 ml of red wine (Preferably of the red grenache or carignan variety from the DOQ Priorat wine region).
- Fresh green lime
- Blue grapes
- Loads of big ice cubes
- Cocktail strainer
- Long twisted spoon
OUR VERMUTS
BCN MUT AMBRE and BCN MUT NEGRE
BCN MUT AMBRE is an artisanal product made of white Garnacha wine from centenary vineyards in Terra Alta, macerated with Mediterranean botanicals and fortified with a distillate of Priorat wines. Dry and complex, with aromas of bergamot, elderflower, wild herbs and an exceptional touch of orange peel bitterness.
BCN MUT is one of the main exponents of the new proposals that are introtuced to the European consumers, seeking refinement and personality in vermouth, either to be taken alone or as the «soul» of the different cocktails and combinations, particularly the Negroni.
As a novelty, BCN GIN presents its BCN MUT NEGRE Barrel Aged, a limited production aged for 9 months in a 450 liters French oak barrel. Very dry and intense, with subtle flavors of caramel, tobacco and vanilla and a long finish with aromas of cinnamon, wormwood and mountain herbs.
